Catherine Hiltz is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and educator from Treaty 6 territory Edmonton, AB, currently residing on unceded and occupied Coast Salish Territories in Vancouver BC.
As a session musician, Catherine has worked with artists Tegan and Sara, Jill Barber, Rae Spoon, Mathew V, The Sojourners, Khari McClelland, and Vox Rea, in addition to being a full-time member of Queer As Funk. She has toured markets in North America, Europe, and South Asia, performing at some of the world's premiere showcase festivals.
As a composer and producer, Catherine has provided the original score for OUTtv's in particular, barbara findlay [sic] (Becca Plucer, 2015), contributed music to Edmonton radio station CJSR 88.5 FM's queer arts and culture show 'Gaywire', and produced commercial recordings for artist such as Britt A.M. and Dot Dot Dot. As an engraver, Catherine transcribed and engraved Rae Spoon's 110-song publication 'The Rae Spoon Songbook'.
