Laura Smith (aka Daggerss) is a producer, musician, vocalist, songwriter and music educator transplanted from the West Coast of BC to the small town of Altona, Manitoba. Her love of collaboration, pop music, synthesizers, sonic experimentation, and vocals are a heavy influence on her creations. Laura produces primarily out of her home studio, Sprkl Studio.

When she isn’t tweaking synths and crafting glittery alt pop gems for other artists, she is making her own magic as either Daggerss (alt pop), Ollorjya (ambient instrumental on Flood Tide Records), or playing drums and singing in her rock band Hot Soup (rock trio).

Laura has a long history as a musician on the Canadian music scene having written, recorded and toured with many well known Canadian indie bands and artists. She toured and recorded all over the world with her former project pop/rock duo Rococode who released two full length albums, four EP’s and a single, had multiple film and TV placements, and charted on college and alternative radio in Canada and the US.

Laura is also currently part of the Planning Committee for the Good + Plenty Producers Club in Manitoba, supporting 2spirit, non-binary and female producers.
