Xannie is a DJ, producer and event organizer, born in Côte d'Ivoire and raised in Ottawa, Canada. Originating from a family of musicians, Xannie’s love affair with music began at a very young age at the age of 8 when she began with some music theory at the INSAAC (The National Institute of Arts and Cultural Action ) and followed with some piano lessons. A couple of years later she participated in several piano competitions at the Goethe Institute in Abidjan where she got first place in the year 2005 & 2006. In 2008 she and her family relocated to Ottawa, Canada where her passion for music only intensified as she navigated her teenage years. From 2008 to 2012, she had the chance to learn the alto saxophone in school. Captivated by music’s power to transcend linguistic and cultural barriers, she developed a deep appreciation for a wide variety of musical genres. From underground clubs to international festivals, Xannie’s dynamic performances which blend different genres have earned her a dedicated following and rave reviews. With each electrifying set, she seamlessly blends elements of Xannie skillfully blends elements of Afrobeat, hip-hop, electronic music, and world music, creating a unique sound of her own. She is also a resident DJ with Quata Quata, a collective based in Ottawa. creating a sound that was uniquely her own.
Xannie is the main Dj as well as the Social Medial & Marketing manager with the Quata Quata Collective based in Ottawa.
