Brighid Fry is one half of the award winning duo Moscow Apartment and an 18 year old recent grad of Rosedale Heights School of the Arts. An alumnus of Girls Rock Camp Toronto -Brighid attended the very first camp in 2011 and many more in subsequent years-, Brighid released a solo EP called Fox Hats produced by Don Kerr when she was only 12 years old. Called the “Toronto’s Tween Queen of Rock” by The Toronto Star in 2015, Brighid ran a youth focused Open Mic in the Junction called Sugar Mountain Sundays and played with tween band Kingdom of Birds before starting Moscow Apartment with Pascale Padilla in early 2017.
Moscow Apartment create lush, harmony & folk imbued indie-rock that is interwoven with the timeless and perceptive writing of Fry and Padilla who co-produced their critically acclaimed sophomore EP, Better Daughter, released in July 2020 and resulted in a global record deal with Hazel Street Records/Sony Music. The band has won a Canadian Folk Music Award, a Toronto Independent Music Award, a Canadian Songwriting Competition award and took home the 2018 It’s Your Shot Competition with Slaight Music.
In 2021, Brighid helped to launch the Canadian chapter of Music Declares Emergency and Climate Live. When not writing and producing music or acting, Brighid is working as a climate activist.
