Kim Fry lives by the Atlantic ocean in Kjipuktuk/Halifax in Mi'kma'ki. She is the Energy Efficiency coordinator for the Ecology Action Centre, a co-founder and board member for Music Declares Emergency Canada and works supporting and promoting emerging musicians. Prior to her recent move Eastward, Kim lived in Tkaronto (Toronto) for 27 years where she was an elementary school teacher, union activist, climate justice activist and music manager.
After many years being active on environmental issues in her hometown of Cornwall, Kim departed for York University where she took both the Bachelors and Masters programs in Environmental Studies.. Kim spent over a decade as an activist and environmental educator/naturalist working for a number of ENGOs before returning to school for a Masters in Teaching and a career with the Toronto District School Board. With a family move to K’jipuktuk, Kim decided to return to the world of environmental activism and work in the music sector full time.
