Marketing and Communications Coordinator (1-year Contract)

Job Description

We are searching for a creative, innovative, and passionate coordinator to join our team (1-year contract with possible extension and growth). If you love marketing and got excited just thinking about joining this amazing organization, we would love to meet you!

Reporting to the Manager of Grants at SOCAN Foundation, this role will provide support to SOCAN Foundation and will contribute to a positive work environment with an emphasis on collaboration. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, creative, and energetic individual with a passion for Canadian music. 

 

Description

- Be the voice of social media platforms for SOCAN Foundation

- Gather data and design the annual report for SOCAN Foundation

- Professional experience with branding and graphic design

- Generating social media content and graphics

- Managing the e-newsletter and communications

- Promote projects, awards, grants, and programs during the year

- Manage website content

- Support program design and communications

- Develop press releases

- Attend team meetings and community gathers (virtual with occasional in-person meetings)

- Other duties as assigned 

 

Remuneration will be based on experience, but the contract is approx. $20-$26/hour for approx. 15 hours per week. There may be an opportunity for growth.

Requirements:

Qualifications

- MUST BE a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (international students are not eligible)

- Excellent writer and content developer

- Experienced with social media and marketing/communications 

- Able to coordinate marketing and communication activities at SOCAN Foundation

- Graphic design skills 

- Passionate and familiar with Canada's music industry

- Informed and committed to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

- Fluent in English (bilingualism in French is an asset) (not mandatory)

- Experience supporting fundraising campaigns is an asset (not mandatory)

- Must have access to internet and phone service
