Grace Chiang is one part ambitious creative, one part meticulously methodical idea architect. From growing up playing classical piano, to working as a civil engineer, to being a multi-faceted music entrepreneur, Grace embodies the delicate dichotomy between an individualist dream-chaser and a pragmatic realist of a second generation Chinese-Canadian artist. Hailing from Vancouver, BC, Grace started out as the assistant audio engineer at Echoplant Recording Studios. After venturing out, she landed notable opportunities including: producer in the Songwriters Association of Canada song camp; mentee of Diamond certified vocal producer, Simone Torres (Becky G, Shakira); alum of 2023 RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship program, alum of 2022 Music Publishers Canada's Women in the Studio accelerator, and mentee of Grammy nominated mix engineer, Matty Green (Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding).
Too familar with being the only woman in the room, Grace's projects have always been about advancing gender and racial equity in creative industries. She was the Stage Director for the 2023 and 2024 EXNW Global Summit in Vancouver, hosting over 60 speakers from racialized backgrounds in film/tv, gaming, and multimedia. She was the Associate Producer for the Vancouver Asian Film Festival Asians in Music sync summit in 2023. In 2024, she produced a Business in Music panel for Women in Music BC, as well as an advanced Vocal Production Workshop for women+ producers, presented by Simone Torres. Grace works closely with She Q Audio to send a delegation of women+ producers/engineers to the National Association of Music Merchants show in California.
Inspired by the resilience of independent performing artists during the pandemic, Grace began building her concert livestreaming startup, TuneTide, which received the Norman Esch Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award. She also created AccessKey, a free resource developed through research and consultation to help improve accessibility in live music through digital tools.
