Lindsay Connolly, the executive director of Under the Spire, is a PEI-born musician and arts administrator who hopes to foster arts sustainability and community relationships in an inclusive and respectful environment. After five years as a freelance grant-writer and arts administrator for organizations in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, Lindsay returned to the East Coast in 2021 to begin work with Under the Spire, formerly known as Indian River Festival. Lindsay believes in leading with her values of accessibility, diversity, curiosity and fun, and greatly enjoys the plethora of diverse genres and creative expressions celebrated in the acoustically unparalleled venue Historic St. Mary’s.
Lindsay believes in the power of community engagement and has curated the previous three seasons at Under the Spire with as much opportunity for connection as possible. Most notably, her community ceilidh series brought together local and national artists, groups, and organizations to celebrate culture through music, food, and prioritizing mental resilience in rural communities. She is grateful to work, play, and live in beautiful Kataganek Epekwitk, the traditional unceded territory of the L’nu and Mi’kmaq.
