Artiste
Alexis Normand’s music has been recognized across Canada to critical acclaim. Named Francophone Artist of the Year by the Western Canadian Music Awards, her list of nominations also includes the Canadian Folk Music Awards, and the Lieutenant Governor’s Arts Award of Saskatchewan.
In 2016, she put her solo career on hold to make her side project with Rosie & the Riveters a full-time endeavor. They toured internationally and their 2018 album, Ms. Behave, peaked at #3 on Canada’s CBC Radio 2 Top 20 and was featured in publications such as Billboard Magazine and Rolling Stone.
Alexis made her return as a solo artist in 2023 and was named one of 10 influential figures in Canadian Francophonie by the end of the year. She performed over 70 shows across Canada and France and was the official spokesperson for Les Rendez-vous de la francophonie – a high-profile month-long event organized annually to celebrate International Francophonie Day (March 20). In September’23 she released Mementos, a bilingual record shortlisted for Album of the Year at the Saskatchewan Music Awards. Produced by James Bunton (Donovan Woods, Celeigh Cardinal) Normand uses her velvety voice as the centerpiece of a candid approach to the contemporary folk world.
