Roxanne Kloihofer was born in Cuba, lived in the Bahamas, and is now based in Montreal. Roxanne composes her music in Spanish, English, and French. She has been part of the LGBTQ+ and vegan community from an early age 16. Roxanne spent part of her adolescence in Cuba, a country that at the time was very homophobic and discriminatory, it was difficult for her to hide her identity and to force herself to be something that she was not. These where difficult, depressing, and desperate moments in her life. Roxanne is a creative and dedicated artist, human and mother of a ? old child. Her mission is to send a
message to people who feel alone and misunderstood, "I know that I make music that can reflect sad and depressive tones contrary to the message I want to send, but there is always light within this darkness that helps to overcome any obstacle that life throws at
you".
Roxanne Kloihofer's parents are of Cuban and Austrian background. Her
musical culture is based the rich and enveloping sounds of traditional
African/Cuban music with percussions, ancestral chants and to the culture
of Santeria and Spirituality and from the sounds of the mountains, the
Waltz, stringed instruments, Witches and Superstitions. She is also
inspired by artists such as: Lana Del Rey, Nina Simone, Enigma, Elvis
Presley, Sade and Enya. She is a perfect blend of these musical cultures
and influences.
Roxanne began to experiment in production when she was 8 years old
in Cuba with a youth development program called fruity loop studio,
at that time she didn't have a microphone so she composed
soundtracks and from there she knew what her path would be. Her
compositions touch your soul with haunting, dark, emotional, and
vibrant themes and ambiances. The travels with her father though
europe helped to widened and open her musical horizons and
approach to song writing.
Music has always transported Roxanne outside of her reality. Roxanne
Kloihofer was always the one to be considered for dancing, singing,
Bart'4 pued t te iS crose avenin; th stuge antstifelt aran e wifte
something natural for me. Roxanne wrote her first song in the first
year of pandemic, everyone who listened to it encouraged her to
continue to write and to believe her natural talent that she could no
longer keep hidden. To express herself in public, she performed in the
streets of the Old Port and Place des arts in Montreal. More recently
she was introduced to producer, arranger, and composer Stefano
Pando who she will be working with on the production of her first
official EP In-Sane that is slated for release in fall 2024.
