Vanessa Giangrande, originally a TV director and editor, ventured into the music world in 2018, giving birth to her electro-pop project Persha. Infused with nostalgic 90’s vibes, Persha quickly made a mark with her unique sound. That same year, she also began composing original music for a variety of media, including short programs, fashion films, television shows, and animated short films.
2022 proved to be a pivotal year for Persha. She released her EP Mind the Witch and the track Lipstick Masquerade, a collaboration with renowned synthwave artist Carpenter Brut. The song garnered over 2 million streams by 2023. Later that year, she joined Carpenter Brut on stage, performing at the iconic Zénith de Paris in October and later at the massive Hellfest festival in June 2023, in front of an audience of 20,000 people.
That same year, Persha won two significant competitions—Universal 100% HER and Grown Kid Music Lab—both of which serve as important stepping stones for aspiring film score composers in France.
In 2024, Persha continued her musical journey with new collaborations. She worked with rising French electro artist Tolvy on Loneliness and featured on a single from synthwave artist Astral Tales’ recently released album. She also performed her debut show in Canada at the Fox Cabaret in December 2024.
Now based in Vancouver, Persha is ready to introduce local audiences to her evolving sound, marked by electrifying, entrancing tracks. Her lyrics, which explore the challenges of a tech-driven world, deliver messages of hope and resilience, reflecting her unwavering belief in the power of humanity.
