Nanaimo singer-songwriter Laura Kelsey has fronted blues, metal and folk bands for over a decade, playing events and festivals across B.C. She brings these influences together as a solo artist and a published poet to create soulful songs inspired by natural West Coast elements, honesty and dreams. Laura is available for vocal work and collaborations.

Recently she released four home-recorded albums — including an ocean-themed collection of songs with all proceeds going to Sea Shepherd — and her latest professionally-recorded single, “A Foolish Thing,” came out in May along with a music video that featured local dancers and artists. Career highlights include being the lead singer for a symphonic metal band that was nominated for a 2014 Western Canadian Music Award and releasing "My Time," a solo single with all proceeds going to WAVAW in Vancouver. Laura currently performs as a solo act and with her duo, Builder & the Banshee.
