Elle McAndrews is a Calgary based artist who combines elements of pop, folk,
jazz, and country in her music. With a classical training and a background as a professional
music therapist, Elle approaches her craft with authenticity and tenderness.
Growing up on a farm near Calgary, Elle's musical journey has been guided by her passion for
music. She started studying piano at the age of 7 and completed her Grade 10 piano studies
with The Royal Conservatory of Music. Elle further pursued her music education at Capilano
University in North Vancouver, graduating with honors in the renowned Music Therapy
program.
In October 2020, Elle released her stunning debut EP, "Hanging by a Thread," which
showcases her diverse talent. The EP was produced by her long-time collaborator and fellow
Calgary musician Samantha Selci. Elle's music takes listeners on a captivating journey
through her creative mind, with emotionally rich compositions that reflect her worldly
experiences.
Inspired by artists like Lana Del Rey, MØ, and Norah Jones, Elle's unique style blends folk-pop
with a timeless yet fresh sound. Elle has received critical acclaim for her debut EP and subsequent releases in 2021. She has also lent her talent to collaborations, providing backup vocals for Yolanda Sargeant of
Sargeant X Comrade and being featured on radio programs such as CJSW's "O the Map" and
CBC's "Key of A.
