Sophie L'Homme is a university trained jazz musician from Montreal with over a decade of experience as a performer. She moved to the West Coast in 2015, where she founded the 120-singer Tofino and Ucluelet Choir. In 2016, she joined the board of directors for the Clayoquot Sound Theatre Community Association and became the manager of the Theatre in 2017. Over the years, she transformed the theatre from a rental-only space into a vibrant venue with its own curated lineup of upcoming and headlining artists. In 2018 she founded the Tofino Jazz Festival which has now become the most impactful festival in the Pacific Rim Region celebrating diversity and inclusivity through free Jazz and World music concerts. Sophie has also produced over 150 concerts in collaboration with organizations like the Tofino Resort and Marina, Pacific Rim Whale Festival, and the District of Tofino. In 2020, she spearheaded what has become a $900,000 renovation of the theatre, making it safe, accessible, more professional, all while securing most of the funding through grants and donations. Her role with the theatre has now evolved into an Executive Director position where she oversees expanded creative and production possibilities that the new theatre provides.
