Duties and responsibilities:

  • Planning & accounting for live domestic and international touring, recording & publishing royalties and other aspects of client business
  • Cashflow planning
  • Insurance planning
  • Preparation of leadsheets, financial statements, Canadian tax returns (corporate and personal), supporting schedules and working papers
  • Preparation of Canadian and US tax slips
  • Reconciliations of bank, investment, and credit card accounts
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers for clients
  • Cash disbursements and bank deposits
  • Prepare spreadsheets & analysis for various uses
  • Correspondence
  • Scanning and sorting records, maintaining client files

Requirements

  • Post secondary education in accounting or business administration or at least 5 years of related work experience
  • Personable, willing to learn and ask questions
  • Organized, reliable, and punctual
  • Integrity and ability to maintain client confidentiality is a must
  • Basic knowledge of accounting
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and Intuit Profile is an asset
  • Previous experience preparing tax returns including GST/HST, T4, T5, corporate and personal income tax returns is an asset
