Jackie K is a Prairie girl from start to finish, and the wide-open spaces of Saskatchewan, and the people that inhabit them, find their way into every corner of her songs. Her music has been compared to that of Tami Neilson and Lucinda Williams, and she is happy to name gifted songwriters like Ron Sexsmith and Nancy Griffith as influences on her work. She also doesn’t want us to forget that her love of jazz as performed by artists such as Diana Krall and Nina Simone continues to percolate through her songwriting, her recordings, and her performances.

Jackie K’s previous recording, a four-song EP entitled Look For the Little Things, was a great success, with the song she wrote to celebrate her father’s love of country music, “Night at the Opry,” rising all the way to the number four spot on the Canadian Independent Country Charts in February 2021. Since the EP’s release, Jackie K has received many positive and enthusiastic reviews in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., having been praised for her “pleasing voice,...familiar and real,” her “brilliantly atmospheric production,” and for songs that feature “a Seventies pop-optimism…that is quite infectious.”

When she isn't writing or recording her own music, Jackie teaches guitar and band to teenagers at North Battleford Comprehensive High School.
