Amalia Mamalia, your soulstess of funk, is a decolonizing daughter of the Filipinx Diaspora. Matriarchal roots via Mangaldan Pangasinan, born in London UK, she was raised on the unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. She is also a Juno nominated artist (SEKOYA) with over 20 years experience in and out of the music industry. She has sat on the advisory board for The Music Gallery, Tkaronto's centre for experimental music and immersed herself in the healing practice of drone therapy. Amalia's most recent career highlights include being invited to open for Yoko Ono's International Exhibition "Riverbed" and being a part of The Kathara Indigenous Pilipino Arts Collective's performance at MOA. She has opened and played with the likes of Erykah Badu, Tanya Tagaq, Ursula Rucker, Saul Williams, Kyoto Jazz Massive, SATE, Maylee Todd, Dām-Funk, and Natasha Diggs to name a few...
