Magali Ould

Magali Ould is one of Québec’s key music-industry leaders, best known for her work with the trailblazing label Secret City Records. She is currently the company’s general manager. Born and raised in Montreal, she has been involved at every level of the local music scene. Graduating from Université de Montréal with a Bachelor of Arts, Magali was initially just a music fan who volunteered with Pop Montreal. In 2011, Magali joined Secret City, becoming that company’s second employee. She went on to be named their first director of marketing, supervising a team and leading international campaigns for the likes of Basia Bulat, Leif Vollebekk, The Barr Brothers, Patrick Watson, Alexandra Stréliski and more. Fully bilingual, Magali played a key role in Secret City’s expansion into Francophone music, helping to sign artists such as Klô Pelgag and the legendary songwriter Daniel Bélanger. A board member for l’ADISQ; she also serves as a mentor for the SOCAN Foundation, and was selected to participate in MERLIN’s Engage program, “shaping the next generation of female leaders in the independent music space.” She was an honoree at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards. Magali has always placed her relationship with artists at the center of her work, building a career founded on respect, care, and conversations about creative ideas. She is also committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by women in the music industry and strives to be part of that positive change. “It’s never just about the commercial product,” she says: “I want to be there for the long-term arc, taking care of everyone.”
