Where were you at in your music career when you had your first child? Was there much discussion about how that life choice would affect your career within the music/entertainment industry?
I had not started my music career yet, and I did not have discussions for when my music career would formally start.
What changed for you when you became a parent in this industry? (or faced when your children were younger if relevant)?
When my children were younger my music career had barely started and had to be paused. I was also working a 9-5, and my income went into raising them, especially because I did not have any family help or community support.
What is one change (big or small) within the industry that could make a positive impact for working parents?
Funding that can support childcare, especially for parents who tour.
Having child friendly shows at venues that hire artist often, or childcare spaces within such venues

How do you find support and community with other working parents in or out of the music industry?
I am currently unable to find support and community with other working parents

I do not know
What could a music event (festival, conference, etc.), do or provide to make it easier for you to participate?
They could provide childcare so that I am able to participate.
Making the festivals child friendly and giving me as a parent first right of refusal to perform during the day.
What advice would you give to someone in music who’s thinking about becoming a parent?
1. I would advise them to become parents, but make plans to find a reliable support system and childcare.
2. Save up to afford childcare, so that you have coverage if you are far from a community of friends and family.
