Women in Music Canada – Membership Coordinator

ABOUT THE ROLE – MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR (CONTRACT)

As a member of the core WIMCanada team, the membership coordinator will be an integral part of the team, with a focus on the basic and Premium membership programs, and member communication.. The role will report directly to the Executive Director and Program and Operations Manager.

The role will include but not be limited to the following:

Membership Coordinator

  • Review and evaluate use of existing membership benefits.
  • Research and build new Premium Membership benefits.
  • Review / create automatic renewal and other communication through the existing WIM membership platform. 
  • Explore functionality of the platform and explore opportunities to streamline communication to membership groups. 
  • Conduct an annual membership survey and assess results with the WIM Canada team. 
  • Communicate member benefits, through a campaign including designing marketing materials through Canva and coordinating all campaign details with WIM Canada social media team.
  • Align membership communication with WIM Canada communication channels and website. 
  • Communicating with members regarding benefit questions or inquiries, mentorship program, completion and payment follow-up and the like.
  • Create membership and engagement campaigns along with regional chapter representatives, with a goal of increasing Premium Membership by 25% through new memberships and transition from basic to premium level memberships. (from current 404 Premium Members)
  • Communicate membership benefits with partner organizations
  • Support WIM Connect newsletter for the time of the contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal applicant for this role will have:

  • Post-secondary education and/or training in music or administration or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English. 
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills 
  • Good critical and creative thinking skills 
  • Detail-oriented 
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team 
  • Experience working with various technological platforms and computer software including google drive, Canva, and wordpress an asset
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Music industry landscape and a contact network a strong asset
  • French language skills are considered an asset 

Time Commitment: This role is expected to be 50% of full time, or approximately 20 hours per week, for 16 weeks. Work hours are flexible providing the role and required meetings are met in coordination with the executive director. 

Compensation: This role is a 3-month term contract beginning May 15, 2026 and ending August 15, 2026 (flexible based on start date). Potential to extend if funding is supported.  Compensation for the role is 

$12 500.00 Canadian, paid as a contract (no tax deductions).
